Interpretation

It all started, when mankind realized he was mortal. Realizing that mortal, motivated the urge of survive. In order to survive, one learned  that, he has to shape nature, according to his needs. So, The story of architecture begins on the day that first stone is placed on top of another. The adventure of architecture, which began thousands of years ago as a human reflex, continues today, with the concern of providing the comfort that necessary for the most efficient execution of human activities. Contrary to the instinctive behavior of the early days, a systematic and conscious spatial planning process is being experienced with the development of some rules and methods. Striving to adapt to the developing world and to respond to its ever-changing needs, transforms architecture into a lifestyle planning mechanism, rather than just a sheltering. Architecture, which varies according to the social lives of people spread all over the world, takes shape according to the zeitgeist, the dominant building material in its geography and the different social needs. Sometimes, it transforms into a form of expression through buildings  that reflects the cultural accumulation of societies, and sometimes sheds light on history with cities that have stood for years. With all these features, it acts as an communication tool between societies and an interface between people and nature. While the industrial revolution of the late 18th century laid the foundations of modern architecture, the trend of modernism that emerged in the early 20th century enabled it to evolve into a rational structure. With the development of humanity and the diversification of its needs, the interest of architecture has expanded to a wide range that cannot be limited only to the need for shelter. Urban and spatial planning studies were divided into sub-branches in order to provide professional products and started to work with many different disciplines. However, the systemization of architecture and the fact that it became a sector based on the economy, made it a mechanical structure. This uncontrolled and rapid development has also caused some fundamental values ​​to be lost and some universal principles to be ignored. Factors such as unplanned urbanization, economic concerns, political decisions, wars, and globalization have led to architecture producing expensive, unusable and unqualified buildings. The architectural experience we have gained over the centuries teaches us to abandon the effort to challenge nature, contrary, it says; create a sustainable environment by incorporating nature into our lives. We see that the way to build a more qualified environment is to produce functional, economic and robust buildings using renewable materials. In fact, life, begins when a clear contradiction becomes a magical mystery which has an irresistible attraction. The life form, which contains an endless urge to survive, does everything for it, even though it knows it will disappear. that is, everything is done with an unlimited imagination and for the sake of impossible perfection. That’s why, we defined our principle as most efficient use of architecture interface. We are continue our way to design a organic aura that will take shape according to human needs and movements.

Guzeyma

Guzeyma which has been continuing its architectural design activities since 2004, was founded by Mirac Guzey in Ankara. It managed the architectural processes of many types of buildings, especially large-scale office buildings, public buildings and mixed-use buildings. He experienced his professional practice by working in a wide range from architectural project competitions to architectural consultancy, from interior design to academic studies. It continues to develop many projects in various scales and typology at international standards. Guzeyma as the basic principle of spatial planning studies to be functional, aesthetic, robust and economic. The main design decisions of all projects are based on the sustainability and adaptability of the buildings to the nature. The way to reach ideal designs is to dream without limits. Conceptual approaches of all projects in Guzeyma, are developed by giving unlimited credit to the imagination. Futurist ideas that emerged with this understanding are integrated into environmental, technological and social factors and become minimal, realistic and applicable forms. This portfolio has been prepared as a selection of the projects and collective works developed by Guzeyma, in the last 15 years.
